The Turns & Tales Times

April Events!

Bookstore Features – New Releases

Cafe Feature – April 24 PA Day

Board Role-Playing Game Feature – Thirsty Sword Lesbians

We’re shaking things up! All April I’m going to be talking about some of the RPGS we carry! Thirsty Sword Lesbians: It does exactly what you think. This game is a little more focused on emotional and inter-personal conflict than the dungeon-delving sword fights you might find in D&D. There’s still swords though. I’m not a monster.

We’ve got a copy available in the cafe to have a look at and I’m trying to convince Alie to run some sessions in addition to her D&D nights. If you see her, ask her about it!

Yejide Kilanko Reading & Signing – May 2

We are thrilled to be hosting local author Yejide Kilanko for a reading and signing of her new book What the Eyes See! Join us on May 2!

What the Eyes See is a folk tale that tells the story of Yanibo the tortoise, who sees humans trading animal bones and summons a gathering of all animals, led by Akambulo the hermit crab. The picture book is informed by a Yoruba proverb which translates as – It is not all that the eyes see that the mouth utters. There is the indisputable wisdom of discretion. There is also the need to speak the truth, even if your voice shakes and stomach aches.
